Session 3: Nepata (Another Blunder)

As the AI announces it's impending suicide, Jowmum changes his "delete" function to "move data to the laptop taken from the hideout." The personality effectively transfers itself.


*Message Boris*

I've got company. Something joined me in my head. I'd like to pick up a couple computer books from the book store, I noticed a holopad or two in the local library's inventory manifest. Also, What does the word, "progenitor" mean?

Once the extra AI has moved, Jowmum removes the special copy clause from his delete function, transferring it to the laptop in the process. He then sees about getting the AI repaired on the laptop, patching up any file corruption using leftover data in his memory buffers.

Tali joins Hailey at the outfitters.
Wow! They have everything here... and more.
*She notices a helmet that would only fit a Gotal*
She tries on different armor sets, each one stranger than the last, until she's asked some equivalent of "buy something or leave."

Boris stops in his tracks.
*Jowmum
"Meet me at the book store."
Boris heads back to the book store.
"Do you have any books on higher droid neural architecture?"

"We very much intend to buy something, good sir, provided you have what we're looking for at a reasonable price." Hailey continues looking through the wide brim hats.

Tali starts mix and matching the wildest looking stuff she can keep from immediately falling off. Comes outta the dressing room looking like some Bith/Weequay hybrid bounty hunter.
*trying to disguise her voice*
AHA! I caught you!

Hailey giggles and holds some sort of alien jester hat behind her head. "Who?"

Jowmum exits the ship, being sure to lock it up, and, heading the earlier advice about being careful about droid kidnappers, scurries over to Boris in the holobook store.

Boris in in conversation with the shopkeeper.

*alerts Boris to his presence*

"Me? I ain't never seen no banta before, I'm just a lil' home-body small town girl, and I just got here." *Snorts and giggles.*

Boris nods
"I found a couple books on that might be helpful"

"These books are expensive but espcially the first two might be useful."

Gasping for air Tali finally gets up and takes off the face mask to wipe the tears from her eyes.
Wow, you're really good at voices! That sounded just like me, 'cept for the accent. Where in the galaxy is that from?
Tali starts putting bits of gear back where they belong, neatly folded or hung as she found them.

"My cousin Maritri taught me everything I know. She had this thing where, when playing hide and seek, she'd completely change her appearance from a girl two years younger than I to a little old lady. I've heard rumors that she's good enough at mimicking to fake security codes. I believe I even saw her speaking binary with a droid once." Hailey puts the jester hat away.

*Message to Boris*

There is no way we can afford all these. Judging by the proprietor's reputation, he may offer a discount for a bit of scholarly conversation. Maybe he can match our budget if we ask about a bulk discount. However, I doubt we can get a 45% discount. You may want to cut the Outer Rim Passageways seeing as we have that map.

"Fair enough"
Boris pouts.
"I will see what kinda deal from the proprietor."

*Message Boris*

I said you MAY want to cut it out. We might be lucky and get them all. Also, I may want the Droid Repair book if possible.

"Yeah she's great, but last I heard she was serving time somewhere for impersonating some high ranking admiral's wife. They wanted to execute her, but it both turns out she never hurt the admiral's wife, who by the way thought it was funny, and then she was immune to whatever it was they tried to poison her with." Hailey looks thoughtful for a moment. "I haven't heard from her for quite some time, which could mean she's escaped by now. She was also the third best escape artist I've ever known."

"Fine That is one of the more pricey books."
adds it to the list.

She might be interested in the freighter repair. Also, I can pull out the speech to perk his interest while negotiating for the price of the books.

"Uh huh"
Boris replies distractedly.
Starting to read Ancient Tomes and cross referencing it with Security and systems.

Message to Boris
Any repair manuals if they got a good price.

Maybe we'll get lucky someday and stumble across her, hopefully not while she's trying to con me outta my ship.

"Watch your Back" is run by a pair of Duros sisters (picture looks more male, but you get the idea)... Denem and Durin Lonsa. It's a bit hard for you to tell which is which. The sisters are quite friendly and chatty, making small talk with the customers and assisting them with whatever they need...



"Welcome to 'Watch your Back'. What brings you to us today?"

In addition to various pieces of clothing (ranging in price from 10 to 200 credits depending on color, quality, material, etc. and including those you mentioned above), you find the following items on various racks and shelves throughout the store...
