Session 11: 10 Days of Hyperspace

"I am in the cargo bay..."
Boris sheaths his saber and waits for Jowmum.

OOC: Jowmum spoke when he already had Boris in eyeshot.

Hailey goes to the cockpit to check the readings.

"How did you get malware?"
Boris asks.

When I booted just now, I started loading my recent memories, but I found a memory of loading memories time stamped about 90 seconds prior, so I figured something later on in the file must have caused my system to go critical. You did say you wanted to supervise me whenever I was about to deal with bad code didn't you?

Jowmum is conserving memory in his observations so as to stretch his immediate memory time; he is only paying attention to Boris and does not hear Tali's comment.

"Nothing is every that simple with Jowmum."
Boris snickers.
"Trust me. Lets see what the log says."

Jowmum loads his recent memories slowly, on low resolution.

Hold it, I am getting a reference to one, no many of Ishbev's torture sessions involving high-powered supermagnets.

Jowmum continues and loads farther back.

Oh, I get it. Hailey attached an industrial strength magnet to my dome and I had a flashback to some disturbing memories. I am marking the past hour for low-resolution deep recording for when I do my next data compression cycle.

Jowmum restores functionality to his remaining short-term memory.

Oh, hi Tali, I ... didn't see you there.

(ishwarr sneaks around the ship gathering parts )

weird sounds come from ishwarrs room sounds as if he is attempting to build something) (btw his door is locked)

Hours later, just as Tali and Boris are starting to think about what to have for lunch, Hailey emerges from the cockpit looking like she just woke up from a seven week long nap. Her hair is messy and her voice is a touch deeper than usual, even for her morning voice. "Man! I feel like I've been asleep for months! You guys'll never believe the dream I had..." she yawns and rubs her eyes, as though trying to remember. "It had something to do with trees, and being in the future... I'm not sure I recognized any constellations, but dreams do that to you sometimes. Anyway, there was this incredible cat I talked to, but then she wasn't a cat at all. It's like she turned into a human while we talked, but she still looked like a cat. I think she said her name was Merle?" She shakes her head and smiles.

"Anyway, we are still on course."

Jowmum has finished recovering from his episode, and he goes to check up on Ishwarr to see if he is doing better.

He hears the noises coming from Ishwarr's quarters and tapps into the intercom in his room.

Hey, Ishwarr, are you okay in there? It sounds like you are doing jumping jacks with a chainsaw under the bed. May I come in and make sure you aren't hurting anything?

(ishwarr quickly covers up his sad attmept of building a droid with his blanket ) "yeah im fine nothing bad going here." (big smirk) "i was just making art yeah art !

(ishwarr gets a worried face ) "um kinda yess ...."

Jowmum comes in after Ishwarr unlocks the door and observes the Mangle. His pupil shrinks and he quietly backs out and darts for the company of other members of the crew. He finds them preparing lunch in the galley. Jowmum rapidly enters, turns, and locks the door with a 256 character fractally generated password, then turns to the others and all but 'faints' (again).

Iii Ish Ishwar Heeee's .........

Jowmum's eye shrinks to minimum and he has a hard time saying anything more.

(ishwarr walks after jowmum ) "was it something i said "?

I-I-Ishwaar what? I mockingly prompt, annoyed that lunch will likely be spoiled by some sort of mischief.

ishwarr cowardly runs and hides in the cargo bay

Hee...ee..e... I.. i..... i....

Jowmum takes a moment to terminate a few unimportant threads.

I've seen my share of scrapped droids in the past,... but HE has no business playing doctor on them. I'll tell you, his quarters are haunted by the abomination he has created. I fear it will kill us all if we do not kill the robotic zombie he has created.

At that moment, a sound is heard thought the ship, maybe it was Ishwarr's Mangle, maybe it was just some temperature equalizing. Either way, it has an unsettling effect.

"I'll handle this." Hailey opens the door (it takes her only a few seconds to bypass JM's lock, despite his protests) and exits the kitchen. Some more odd noises are heard upstairs as Tali sets the table and Boris dishes up for everyone. Then there is a brief, slow wooshing sound, followed by some cranking. Lunch is ready to sit down and eat at by the time Hailey returns. "You may now rest easy, little friend. That... thing, and  its parts, and it's scrap, and whatever ghost it may have had, it will not be bothering us any longer."

Tali only narrowly manages to convince Jowmum that welding the door shut as a precaucion against Ishwarr would in fact be a bad idea. When Hailey returns, Jowmum comes out of the corner a little.

She sighs as she sits down. "Let's just say I might be owing Ishwarr an apology. Hey, who made the bread? It smells delicious."
