Session 11: 10 Days of Hyperspace

Ooc: I would love to play the game with you guys. I figured out how to play cards on roll20. Let's reserve this conversation until we can play, and time skip the forum to the next morning. I think it will be day 3? or 4?

Ooc: as far as Jow wanting to count cards goes. that only works in blackjack as the cards don't get reshuffled. as far as bluffing and face reading goes, we can use opposed cool and perception checks.

Jowmum decides to take some breakfast to Ishwarr.

I know it has sometimes been like him to be reclusive like this, but sulking over a lost bet? True all his money is now being used as our chip set for the time being, but still! This has got to be a new low for him. All he has to do is clean up the kitchen by himself and he gets it back. He is lucky we sent him to bed before he gambled his gun away.

Ishwarr is facing away from the door when Jowmum enters.

Hey, I brought you some breakfast. Are you hungry?

*Ignore*

Well, in that case, your food is on the table.

*Rejoin others in kitchen*

Hailey applies a super magnet to an Ishwarr's fist sized dent in the wall, and turns it on to maximum power. "I tell ya, I ain't never calling him a sore looser ever again; you win some, you loose some, sometimes you loose a lot. When I was a kid, all I ever did was loose. Ooh..." She hold her side for a moment. The dent groans, then suddenly pops back into place. Hailey removes the magnet and inspects the thin wrinkles left behind. "Nothing a little buffing can't fix. Sorry about the wall Tali, but I've never seen a Wookie move so fast and if it hadn't been the wall, it would have been me."

Jowmum rolls into the kitchen.

Ishwarr is still sulking, so I left his breakfast in his room. I sure hope he feels better soon.

"You know we probably should have not taken all his money..."
Boris comments ruefully.
"You know some how training with that wookie seems less appealing."

We agreed he gets it back when the kitchen is fixed. In the future, though, I think live bets are a bit too lively for this crew.

OOC:We give Ishwarr back his money when his PC returns.

"Yeah, well that live bet of yours nearly cost me my face if nothing else." Hailey sticks the magnet onto JM's dome, powered on just enough to stick, not nearly enough to cause damage. "Here, hold this." His hat is pinned.

Jowmum tries shifting his hat. When that doesn't work, he rams it with one of the tools in the top of his heat and the magnet still doesn't budge.

"Quit it Jowmum a little magnet like that is not going to hurt you."
Boris rolls his eyes at Jowmum's antics.
Boris heads down to the cargo bay to practice his saber technique without distractions

Jowmum tries using the table to get the magnet off.

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOR

He tries leaving the kitchen, but manages to get the magnet stuck to the edge of the door.

Playmate expired.

*shutdown until magnet is removed*

Hailey laughs at JM and the magnet, but the other cleaning supplies and things still belong in the cargo bay, not the kitchen cabinets. "Jowmum?" but by now he's unresponsive. She removes the magnet as easy as twisting the power knob, then plucks it from his dome as she passes by. "If you'd only asked nicely," she grumbles.

Jowmum returns to the workshop in a zombified fashion, chanting,

OOC: Black is now for Jowmum's BIOS talking.

Hearing the repetitive BIOS message I come to investigate. I find Jowmum witha magnet on his head, and Hailey laughing on the floor. A second glance reveals the magnet on its lowest setting.
I carefully remove the magnet.
Really Hailey, EM interference really is quite dangerous to droids. Even this low power setting is enough to trigger his safety emergency shutdown. *I start his reboot sequence* I hate that he has that Ion cannon mounted in him, its an accident waiting to happen. Too bad its so useful. How would you like it if someone struck a nerve that knocked you out with zero effort?

All of Jowmum's hatches and tools open and extend in a wave pattern that flows up and down his body a couple of times.

Powerup complete.

Jowmum accesses recent memories.

Wait, what happened? How did I get here?

Jowmum's external lights start blinking and flashing at an accelerated pace.

The magnet, it's just like, wait, stop get that thing away! No no no NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOC Explanation:

OOC: Hailey already removed the magnet, and when she did put it on him she meant only for him to hold it for a moment. Any malicious behavior was only derived from the fact that she knew he couldn't refuse, not that it would shut him down. Also, I am told by multiple sources that magnets such as the one Hailey used (and much more powerful ones) are harmless to droids.

Hearing her name from upstairs as she's putting various tools and cleaners away, Hailey takes a break to shout up the droid elevator. "I'm in the cargo bay!"

ooc: nope, thats not five. and hailey's right, a little magnet shouldn't hurt jow, considering the maglocks that are built into droids

As I'm half way through chastising Hailey, a thought crosses my mind.
Wait a sec, you're equipped with maglocks to keep you attached to the hull when working outside, therefore you should have more than enough EM shielding to protect from this prank. Give up the act, you and I both need to apologize to Hailey.
I stomp off towards the storage room she called from, unhappy to be so easily tricked.

I leave JM to finish rebooting since he brought that on himself.
Hailey, I'm sorry I started yelling before thinking. Thank you for repairing the dent

Jowmum starts accessing his recent memories, starting with a memory of going to do just that.

That's strange, something further on must contain some sort of malware. I should probably finish that part of my booting with Boris.

Jowmum quarantines his short term memory and hurries off to find Boris before he starts forgetting stuff.

*4/3 usual talking speed* Boris! I just found evidence of malware in my short term memory. I need help removing it before my immediate memory filled.
