Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
After hearing Hailey mumbling to herself in the corridor, Jowmum figures he can wrestle with the computer later. He pulls out of the computer and joins Hailey.
You know, what if you and Boris hide on the thrid level, while I get the droid to turn the faulty reactor back on? If we are lucky, he will be extra nice and turn it on when they are in the room.

Hailey smiles. "Good idea. Do it. If that hunk of junk won't help you, do it yourself but don't worry by then if they're in the room or not. Oh, and when you do, make sure that droid is on our side of the reactor. I'm going to go find Boris."

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
Jowmum goes down to the reactor control room to talk to the droid about his plan.
Um, excuse me, <droid designation>, there is a situation. Some Sith are approaching and the Jedi I am traveling with is still here. Would you kindly turn the reactor back on to protect him? Bonus points if you can time it so it starts when they are in the room.

Hailey finds Boris and tells him everything she knows that Tali didn't already explain, including that the professor is dead and the sith apprentice is looking for her. "JM's having the reactor turned back on, so I hope you're cozy down here. I also think we should get on with finding whatever it was the professor was looking for down here; it might come in handy."

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
"Sith? Here? Again? Oh my. Certainly. I'll turn it on right right now. Would you like me to increase power generation? I do not know how I would time it, though... What should I do if the sith find me?"
Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
Correct me if I am wrong, but we can pass through safely while it is still warming up. Don't worry about timing it, though.

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
You are wrong. Especially if I set it to ensure complete annihilation of the intruders. Also, how would I get back to the control room to shut it off later?
Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
The explosives. I sure hope he will understand.
We can always figure something out later. As for getting you to safety, what about setting it on a timer or something? If there isn't one, just show me how to turn it on full blast while you go to safety. I think I can handle myself in a pinch.
I can go back to the archives and attract them into that room, then politely tell that computer of the Sith intruders. Worst case scenario, I just purposely trip the alarm once they are in the room and play hide and seekocate with them. Shouldn't be all that hard.

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
I could set a timer cycle, I suppose, how much time do you want on it? And my primary programming is to service these generators. That is why I was concerned about finding a way back. If anyone stays here, it would make sense for me to do so.
Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
In the distance, Boris and hailey hear a muffled explosion. Dust and debris fall slowly from the ceiling. A few minutes later, Blaster shots. Then Ubese exclamations and voices, drawing closer...

I can't seem to find a canyon big enough, but I keep looking for one, or some other cover.

I suppose we can hide in the archive. I can tell the computer about the Sith when the time comes, if we are found. Of course, we can also lure them into there then trigger the trap. Whatever we do, we had better hurry. I heard they already killed one of the Jedi with us.

Whatever we do, we need to hurry!

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
Actually, the roll wasn't to find a canyon. It was to remember an old smuggler pilot's trick, which Tali is evidently unaware of.
As Tali ascends from the landing platform, a holomessage is displayed on her ship's comm.
"Pilot of the VCX-100 designation "Aether Skiff": This is Commander Keira Govan with the Imperial Security Bureau. We have your ship on our scanners. Your presence in this sector is in direct violation of the Deep Space Security Net interdiction protocol. Furthermore, you have consorted with a known enemy of the Empire. I am giving you one chance and one chance only to surrender for interrogation. "

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
GM's correction: I earlier, incorrectly, placed Tython in the outer Rim. In fact, it is located in the Deep Core, only a skip and a jump from Coruscant and Imperial presence and security here is quite thick... Since you didn't have knowledge of this earlier, in time to prepare, I'll have a few serendipitous events happen to give you a bit of a reprieve...
Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
To find cover is an average piloting roll, with one purple and one red die.
Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
- OOC sigh...:
It's things like this that are really important. Everyone would have known this was heavily patrolled space as it would have been fairly public knowledge (Empire is known for the "Great White Fleet" tactics). Our decision to come here would have been greatly influenced by this knowledge. Rant over, back to roleplayd0e8r wrote:GM's correction: I earlier, incorrectly, placed Tython in the outer Rim. Tali immediately halts her search, and takes a moment to calm herself. Then replies to the message.
Commander Govan, this is Captain Talik'Vrei. I submit to your interrogation. Where should I rendezvous?

"Meet me in orbit. Your cooperation is appreciated. I suspect you may have been deceived into coming here and am prepared to offer leniency."
Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
I appreciate the offer Commander. I'm setting an intercept course now. ETA 3 minutes. Please have docking instructions prepared.
Tali angles the ship up, and begins exiting the atmosphere.

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
As you ascend to orbit, you are greeted by the sight of a carrack-class cruiser... No sight of any of the destroyers previously here. You dock with it on the Commader's request. After exiting your ship, you are greeted by a human female flanked by several security personnel. She bows ever so slightly and stiffly.
"This way please." She says curtly.
She crisply signals to several troopers, who board the Aether Skiff and begin searching it thoroughly... The commander leads you to a dim, gray room, and dismisses her escort. "I'll handle this."

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
After the trooper's leave, Keira seals the door. With a flick of her wrist she deactivates her comm and turns off the security cam in the room's corner.
"Tali'k Vrei. A young, inexperienced pilot with the Corellian Engineering Corps. Took on a Bothan and a Droid passenger in Coruscant, who joined your crew

- She doesn't seem to be aware of Hailey!
- Mind trick:
- You and the crew were deceived into believing Tython was in the outer Rim. Jowmum was given a false set of coordinates for his original astrogation calculations, but the professor switched them with the correct coordinates while Jowmum was in standby mode. Since Tython is not a well known planet, you didn't know better to call the professor's bluff. I know this isn't a perfect explanation. Just roll with it.
- GM's Clarification [Off-panel meta knowledge, read at your own risk!]:
- I know some of you might be wondering: If only Boris and Tali'k were recognized as significant crewmembers, why did the Sith order his troops to search and destroy collaborators of the Jedi in the temple?? Well first off, Commander Govan knows less than she would like Tali'k to think she knows. She is going off of what she gleaned from her contacts on Coruscant and Formos. Second, as you may have guessed, the inquisitor and his ubese hirelings are much more paranoid. Not knowing how many were with the Jedi, the inquisitor did not want to take chances. Commander Keira is an idealist who truly believes that she is doing the right thing in serving the Empire and upholding its ideals. She tends to see civilians in a positive light unless she has very good reason not to.

Re: Session 5: Rodia to Tython
I return the bow, and listen attentively to her every word.
On behalf of my crew, I apologize for any transgressions. I didn't know I was transporting a Jedi, nor that that was against the law, nor that this was restricted space. It would appear my inexperience has gotten me in some trouble. But as you can see by my prompt surrender, I would much prefer to work within the law.

"I suspected as much... I can't give further details right now, but if you truly want to be of service to the Empire, gather your crew and proceed to the coordinates located on this data stick. Treachery will not be tolerated. Now, I really must apologize, sweety, but this is going to be necessary to keep scrutiny off of me for my leniency..."
She backhands Talik' hard, across the face doing one point of damage...
The doors hiss open, and two security guards come in.
"She told me what we needed. Did you find anything of interest aboard the ship?"
"No sir!"
"Very well. You are free to go. Don't forget what we discussed. Next time, the Empire may not be so lenient..."
Tali' thanks the force that she wasn't carrying any illegal cargo this time...

Rubbing my cheek. I undock from the cruiser. I set a course for the temple, but scan the area for the Lambda Shuttle before re-entry.
