Session 10: Back to Nar Shadda

"I know, right?" Hailey looks at him. "Ever since, we found that... lady in, in the oil bath, I've been trying, not to puke." Talking about this seems to be a forced effort for her. "Or is it something else?"

Roll:

Boris shakes his head.
"It is something else. The timing of the attack the state of the mine. Someone planned for this. I wish I knew more about the history of the mine. News of the mine changing hands should of temporary put thoughts of riot on hold. At least until more information could be gathered."
Boris taps his fingers on his palm.
"It happened just before we got there which suggest that it was someone’s attempt to poison the well and cover their tracks. Possibly [[insert cultural equivalent to white elephant.]]"

"Hmmm... There was something I heard about, that I think a cousin of mine whom I've never met did. A Hutt, an especially wealthy one, was throwing a party to show off his collection of various artifacts. He had a slave of almost every sentient species, and dozens of relics from every culture known to history. But on the third day into the party, the entire mansion caved in on itself and everyone not standing less than two steps from a door was killed. When the wreckage was excavated, only about twenty percent of the alleged goods and treasures were accounted for. I suspect what happened was a thief was robbing the mansion blind, was caught, but he had a backup plan. He caused the cave-in as an overly homosidal diversion, and made off with the goods."

Hailey looks thoughtful. "Do you think it was something like that? Did we almost catch the thief in action?"

Jowmum comes barreling into the room with his additional evidence.

3D-4K woke up enough to tell me something! EV8D3 has been activated again! I think he is somehow hacking into 3D-4K. I recommend we start up a communication barrier and figure out what exactly is going on.

Boris grins.
"I think someone tried to pull fast one on a Hutt. I think that we should hold off return to the Hutt until we have checked out 3D's memory."

Hailey turns on the ship's com. "Attention crew and passengers, please prepare for sub-light speeds. Use of any and all transmission devices is prohibited until further notice. Captain, please report to the cockpit."

Hailey turns off the com, and initiates ship wide communications blackout. "Jowmum, that includes use of the internal com system as well as messaging devices. Help me get this ship out of hyperspace."

"NO! Jowmum go watch our cybernetic friend and jam his comms. I will claim it is part of Gand funeral ceremony. Hailey bring the captain up to speed then after the funeral you and I should interrogate the miners."
Boris is now working in high speed.

"No, I want you to do it safely." Hailey turns to JM. "Right now, we're heading directly for the Hutt's hut on Nar Shadda. I believe we're already a few hours ahead of schedule, which gives us a little time for... for the 'funeral', I suppose. But we're going to get to the bottom of this before I let any homicidal droid AI scum out into the public. And while you're at it, I want you to talk to the ship's computer; make sure it's not infected too."

Well, at least pull off the shipping lanes, before dropping to sublight. It would be best if you find a nebula or something.

Jowmum then goes back down to 3D.

"Jowmum! I need your help!" Hailey chases him. "I don't do hyperspace; I do asteroid dodging."

She frowns. "And I only drive a speeder, is that it? Fine. I'll go get Tali's help if you won't help me."

This is actually something I've never heard of before; coming out of hyperspace unplanned, before you've reached your previously calculated destination.

That sounds like a good idea.

*goes to workshop*

Jowmum sees that 3D-4k is now awake. A panel on his chest is open, and he appears to have been working on some small device with the tools and parts in the workshop, which has now been left abandoned on the workbench. Talik' is lying nearby unconscious...  As Jowmum approaches, 3D looks relieved (at least as much as an emotionless droid can).

"Thank the maker.  I was trying to repair my chronometer. It seems my old one was damaged by whatever EV-8D3 did to me at the mines. Jowmum observes a mess of wires attached to what does, in fact, appear to be a timekeeping device...

"Your friend was kind enough to offer to help. Unfortunately, I'm afraid she wasn't familiar with my internal workings, and suffered a severe shock. I attempted to call for help, but with the comm systems down... I was about to go for help, when you came in. We need to get your friend medical attention right away."

[Last information I had, Tali'k was in the workshop with Jowmum. Since I hadn't recieved any other indication that she went elsewhere... Jowmum left, and she was left alone with 3D to try and help fix him.]

"Heres to the impossible."

Astrogation roll:

Boris says as he plots a coarse.

Hailey appears in the workshop. "Tali!"

*turns on comm jammer*
Jowmum assesses the cause of Tali's wounds.

We were looking to have a funeral for the mine workers that didn't make it. The service should be in an hour or so.

*Holds open the door, bellowing down the hall to the cockpit.* "Boris! Bring a med kit to the workshop ASAP!"

[ummm... Jowmum doesn't have medical training. But no "wounds" are apparent...]

Oh dear. I am terribly sorry.

As to the miners, I'm afraid I didn't know them very well... I would be happy to attend, but I think we ought to see to your friend first. The dead will keep."

Boris says as Hailey flees before he could give the course
"Now what do I do? Never mind I was too slow. It has started"
Boris yells for Ishwarr
"Ishwarr report to the cockpit"
