Session 6: Tython to Corellia

With a near perfected custom security program, Jowmum decided to check out the local Dejarik club for any early level competitors his level.

Mind if I have a crack at a game? I am fairly new to the game, though.

The club officers, who have a slight sense of humor and take him for a sucker, pit him against one of the stronger players and pass him off as a rookie.

This here is Ol', I mean, Lil' Nicki. He will be your sparing partner.

The pair go off to a table and start playing. For the first hour, Niki consistantly plays slightly above Jowmum's skill level, training him up but still winning every game.

Four games into the lineup, Jowmum made a note in his log. Impatience subroutines temporarily deactivated. Another six games passed with Niki slowly playing slightly above Jowmum and chuckling in amusement each victory. It was in the eleventh game when Niki made a terrible blunder. Bingo. He took advantage of the opening in Niki's defenses and... managed to loose his last piece to Niki's last piece. Niki had turned up his difficulty to max when defeat became a real prospect.

Upon realizing the deception, Jowmum politely excuses himself to another activity.

Well, that was an educational experience. Thanks for being so patient with my inexperience.

A glint of realization washes over his face in a blink and you miss it fashion. It would take a robotic eye to notice. Anytime.

I think I will wait on re-enabling my impatience until I have a little time to deal with it.

Jowmum checks the schedule again and decides to attend a colloquium on some random mechanics topic. He arrives early and disguises himself as one of the inactive astromechs in the background of the classroom. He doesn't learn anything new, but it is a little refreshing to go over something he does understand.

Jowmum approaches from the side, but seeing as a conversation is in progress, he waits to be recognized.

Boots up the computers and warms the engines for the short flight over to the schools hangars.

It's a quick flight from the main docks to the school's hangars. A ground control student is signalling where to land. He continues the safety rundown of the aforementioned material and the Vac/pumps for removing old coolant and charging the coils with new, and magnetic field containment vessels to keep hypermatter separated from normal matter. While hypermatter is more stable the antimatter, it has a tendency to "escape" our normal space if its reaction gets started.
