Session 10: Back to Nar Shadda

As soon as Boris says anything,

I am busy cleaning up 3D's software. This may take a while.

Boris pulls out his vibro sword and training saber.
"Jows if you do not back away for that droid I am going to make sure you get reprogrammed as a toaster oven"
Boris threatens.

(after ishwarr gets his hand out he does a little happy dance and jumps up and down)

All Jowmum finds initially on the hard drive is a mess of corrupted files and programs. Next to nothing remains intact. He slowly starts patching the bits together as best he can. When Boris makes his threat, Jowmum feels a burning anger inside him "What right does he have to threaten ME, a free droid. Reprogram me? How DARE HE! and as a toaster oven, no less!" Jowmum's shock probe comes out, and he finds himself advancing on Boris in a rage. In the back of his verbobrain, something nags at him that it's unusual for him to get this upset, but he pushes it aside. Boris is COMPLETELY out of line. Jowmum wonders if all Bothans might have this problem.

"Do I have your complete and undivided attention? Any time any of us deal with this droid by ourselves we get into trouble.... Drat!!!!"
Boris finally notices Jowmum's attitude
*Talik*
"Captain... Hailey could I please have your assistance as soon as possible."
Boris calls into into the comm.

The comm is still down, but Hailey is close enough to hear. She climbs the ladder. "Jowmum! Oh please!" She stands between the two before any physical harm is done. "Now both of you! Put away your plastic blasters and wooden sabers IMMEDIATELY!! Tali! Oh, and I'd better get an explanation really fast or I'm going to get real angry."

(ishwarr decides to rub his belly on the floor because he has nothing else to do )

OOC:Jowmum was using the laptop. It would have been the thing infected. He already learned his lesson with quarantining softwear.

I grab a big wrench and a wookie by the ear as I make my way towards Hailey's voice.

"Hang on a minute before you smack something; I'm getting a strange feeling that the... the great gods who guide our destinies are having a little discussion about what's going on here."

Though, since you are a droid, even LOOKING at cleverly programmed subliminal characters via proxy could potentially cause infection, IF the programmer was highly proficient (kind of like hypnosis)... But again, I never said you were infected. Just stated your feelings, which may also have arisen from the high stress day, etc. Just roll with it for now."]

"Ok One Jowmum has been working on this for hours, Two he has not asked for help from anyone qualified, three any time only one of us interacts with this droid without others things go sideways, four He has been stuck in a loop and ignoring communications attempts for hours now, five I really do not want to loose my companion, six Jowmum and I agreed to point out when we are about to do some incredibly stupid after... never mind, seven he blew me off instead of listening and this was the fastest way I could think of to break an infinite loop, eight I really really hope it is still Jowmum in there."
Boris comments while putting away his weapons not taking his eyes off Jowmum.

Hailey looks at Jowmum.

Jowmum puts his shock probe away in response to Boris backing off. The tension in his voice makes no attempt to hide the resentment he feels right now.

For your information, that was no infinite loop, it was an auto reply program I slapped together. I only wanted a little privacy while I tried to unscramble the brains of 3D to get some more answers. You on the other hand don't seem to care about what happens to him.

"Thank you." Hailey nods to each of them in turn. "Very well, how about this. Jowmum, take a break. Show Ishwarr a movie, or teach him how to play Dejarik; I don't care, just get away from that droid brain. And you-Boris. I want you to demonstrate how much you care about 3D's ultimate fate by picking up where Jowmum left off. I'll help you; you and Tali can take turns. Is everyone mutually dissatisfied with this deal? I hope so, because I'm nearing my wit's end with this!"

(ishwarr in excitement peeks up) " come on jowmum we never hang out come on we can play hide and seek".

Hailey cringes in a way that Ishwarr can't see. She mouths, Sorry.

"I agree with Hailey. First Priority is not to have the droid work with the droid mind controlling software. Then once we have had a day to relax and not panic we could as a TEAM work on extracting his personality and memories carefully from the the corruption. Today has had to many fires some literal. That is why I am saying as someone who just spent several hours out an air lock trying for some peace and quite that everyone on this ship is way to tense. I may not be computer hacking genius but I do not need you killing us in our sleep. So Please do not work on this by yourself under any condition. If you don't think the three of us can handle it then we can start tomorrow. But please don't start an more fires today metaphoric or otherwise. And if it turns out I over reacted I am truly sorry but this should keep until tomorrow."
Boris practically gets down on his hands and knees begging Jowmum to leave the droid alone for now.

Jowmum is still clearly upset, but his anger has subsided somewhat.

I will consent to your conditions. Just keep in mind 3d is primarily MY project.

OOC:
