Session 9: Nar Shadda to Gorvan mine

I expertly flip the proper switches to get the autopilot to set down and put the engines in a shut down sequence.

"No..." Hailey unsuccessfully tries to stop the sauce pan from leaping off the table and flying end over end above her Wookie and Bothan crew mates. As Tali fixes thing upstairs, Hailey observes that Boris and Ishwarr look incredible under a layer of Marinara. She blushes from her efforts not to laugh. "I'm getting the hankering to introduce that little bolt bucket of yours to cousin Martin." She quickly runs to the supply closet for cleaning supplies before Boris can point out how clean her white shirt (and the rest of her outfit) still is.

Jowmum goes off somewhere to sulk.

WhYYYYYY?! This was the very thing I wanted to prevent from happening! Boris is going to arrange for me to be scrapped or something, not to mention Hailey, or... *Dare not even think about what the newcomer might have to "say."*

Jow, wait! I'm sorry I snuck up on you. If you want to learn how to fly, I'll teach y-...ou...
*I subconsciously try to pull back that last sentence.*
can droids be taught? or do I have to download something?

Jowmum halts his retreat just past the door and peeks back in. He assumes a humble posture and mumbles,

I just had a terrible daydream; someone jacked the ship and I was the only one who could stop it, but I just made things worse. I just don't want it to happen for real.

I take the time to point out the auto stabalizers and altitude lock, and that these should be accessible to if I'm not piloting the ship.
I should invest in some control locks to slow down hijackers...

How's about I reinstall your fire extinguisher while we wait for everyone to clean u... I mean finish eating...
I pull a droid purposed class R extinguisher out of a crate in JM/Boris room.

Hailey gets to work, cleaning the galley and the kitchen. "All my hard work; wasted due to that little buffoon. Just wait till I..." She pauses for a moment to wipe a small splat of sauce from the table and lick her fingers. "Man, and that's the best sauce I think I've ever made. JM sure knows how to ruin an appetite."

"This was one of my best suits. I guess that is one of the trade offs for have reaction time optimized instead of social logic path."
Boris laughs and starts to clean up the galley, while holding the only un spilled plate of food.
"You know how many problems could be solved if he would ask permission before doing. No sense in letting food go to waste."
Boris collects the scraps and puts them in a to go bag.
"I will be right back please don't let the ship leave without me."
Boris leaves with the plate and the to go bag.

*When Boris returns* "Did you give that to a bumb?"

After Jowmum has his fire extinguisher reinstalled,

I am sure everyone else wants to scrap me. I heard Boris' scream. Do you think you can explain the situation to them?

Boris is very surprised the Hailey guessed his intentions but tries to conceal it.
"I gave it to someone who was not going to be to picky about where their next meal came from."
Boris answers finishing his plate of food on the way to the sink.

I walk in as people finish and help with the dishes.
Sorry about the bump earlier... I guess I shouldn't startle droids when they're trying to study flight controls.

"I should have figured."
Boris laughs.
"Astromech programming combine with a wookie personality makes for a fairly socially inept and impulsive combination. He is good at what he does so long as I don't mind the occasional surprise. Which can occasionally be nice."

"I never worked with droids much; it was my cousin Martin who was the 'budding mechanic', not me." Hailey's tone seems to imply that Martin was only good at taking apart droids that were perfectly fine and putting them back together as an assemblage of congealed droid parts.

Jowmum says strategically away while everyone thinks about (hopefully) forgiving him.

*I rub my belly.*

*I stand and spread my hands on the table.*
Now that our bellies are full, let's fill that Hutt's pockets so he might forget about us. I say we finish the job, but...forgettably. As in we meet the bare minimum of his tasks.

Having sensed the tension in the room thinning out, Jowmum cautiously enters.

I for one am looking forward to a simple mission for once.

"Indeed, that is why Jowmum... do you want lessons in piloting so bad that you can't wait until we leave space dock? Or are you trying to make us look incompetent enough that the Hutts don't want anything to do with us?"
Boris asks amused.

I take off and begin explaining the intricacies of balancing acceleration to that tipping point of exciting vs. unconscious (and therefore dead if you're flying).
