The text was part of the original sign.

"Yeah, the original sign while you were there. Those must be newer signs than the ones I had to deal with almost three and a half years ago."

No breathable atmosphere can decay this much.

Keep in mind that this was taken two years ago.

"Uh-huh. And just what did you think they used to quiet the prison riots? Believe me, as soon as I heard what they kept in their central heating unit, I got out of there. You wouldn't want to stick around either and let their riot gas corrode away your circuits. Likewise, I was in no mood to be denied the Warden's numbers, much less experience what happens when the security systems believe there's been a break-in to a 'We'd rather kill every inmate than let one little thief escape' type of prison."

Funny, there hadn't been any riots since the empire had first formed and banned the races. That was why they decided to keep in the end.

"So they decided to keep that one a secret, did they?" Hailey sighs. "Well, I guess that ugly guard must have been far more embarrassed than I thought."

I got that particular piece of intell from an older inmate with a sharp memory, not a database with a "missing" entry.

"He lied to you. That or he was spared and had his memory wiped of the incident. Because whenever they use that gas, every thing with a brain dies within a minute or two of inhaling it."

"I suppose he could also have been elsewhere at the time."

You are also missing the point, <compound used in the riot gas> leaves tiny purple speckles when it eats that kind of metal, and I don't see such a signature. Besides, they have a date right here.
The highlighting on the rust spots fade and a date about fifty two years ago is high lit.

Hailey glares at him. "Ok, now you're just being stubborn. I saw you slowly adding purple specks to it as you were displaying it! Congrats, you old tin can. If we ever see your progenitor again, you can tell him you've learned to lie to your friends. Oh, and for your information, it was <name of correct lethal substance used as riot gas>, not <whatever JM said>." Hailey goes to her room and locks herself in.

Jowmum sounds genuinely disapointed as he talks to thin air.
Now I know you were making part of the story up.

Boris continues to watch the Wookie from the edge of the cargo bay.

*Still mumbling in the direction Hailey went*
On a second thought, maybe there were some clutter boxes or something blocking the lower part of the signs? If it helps, the guard in question refused treatment. He didn't want to let himself forget... something.
Jowmum sighs as he solemnly rolls over to the others.
It's probably safe to go check in with the fleet and see if they treated the ship like a lady.

Still not sure how we got on the topic of prisons and maiming.
Woah, woah, woah. What's Oovo IV? Why've you all been there? And am I the only one who hasn't been to prison and or brutally maimed someone?
I really need to be more strict with my interviews...

Re: Session 7: Anyone here speak furball?
Oovo IV is a maximum security asteroid prison. Boris and I were boarded by pirats who we managed to drop off there. While we were meeting with the warden to drop off the prisoners, A security droid came by and mistook Boris for another Bothen who was incarcerated there and managed to vaporize himself in an escape attempt. It incapacitated him and the warden with gas and started dragging him off for punishment. I got into the computer system, a rather rude fellow with a bit of an accent, and started tracking their progress through the facility. When I saw the punishment of the week, darts to the face, I hacked the droid, but not before they changed him into prison clothes. It took a couple of weeks to sort stuff out, and while we did loose some progress in Boris' research, it was more like the last six WEEKS, which included half a year's worth of planning to arrange a meeting with someone, I am not at liberty to say who, but the insight we gathered more than made up for it. Boris had never been to a podrace before, and I arranged for him, or rather his recently late doppelganger, to have front row seating for the podrace. It took a pair of weeks and a third of the contents of our remaining travel funds, but we made it out alive.
