Session 5: Rodia to Tython

OOC: not sure how to do the rolls on here but I got three green dice at 5,3,3 and four purple at 4,2,1,7

"It's little more than your cover is what I meant," Hailey points at him, then gestures towards the way out. "Same for that guy, except he's actually got a genuine interest."

I wonder...

*adds recent visitors (within past 10 years) to items to search for*

"It is still your cover." Hailey turns. "I wonder what Tali is doing."

Boris laughs
"Look for what is lost."
Boris suddenly realizes that she is up on the surface.
"We may have to go rescue our pilot..."
Boris looks at all the stuff catalogued.
"Can you check up on her I still have stuff to do down here."

"Fine." Hailey starts using the inactive training saber as a walking stick, heading for the surface. "I'll go venture out into the unknown and go rescue our young pilot from whatever's out there while you do your oh-so-important 'stuff'."

Hailey snickers at him as she turns the corner.

For Talik:

Talik recognizes the figures as flesh raiders, the native people of Tython... She can't remember anything else about them, though, even though she knows that at one point, she knew more...

For Jowmum:

You gain access to the archives. However, any files of interest to to are buried under deeper layers of encryption. After convincing (✶✶✶☸☸☸) the computer that you are in fact, affiliated with the Jedi order, it finally gives you read-only access to those files. You note in the security logs that no visitors to the temple have been recorded during the past 10 years, apart from some hammer-headed sentients ( Daunting [four purple] Lore role) who only made it so far as the first few mines before leaving and they have not returned since...

You find a galaxy map with the locations of every known planet. You find a record of the flora and fauna of Tython. You find mentions of a lost "wandering" planet that was extremely strong in the force and rumored to be sentient (the planet itself). You find mentions of a dark jedi who tried to turn the natives of this planet against the jedi, and even taught some of them to use the force, before ultimately being defeated by a new, but powerful Jedi padawan... And much much more...

But when you attempt to download anything, the computer stubbornly refuses...

Formidable (four purple, one red, three black [due to it being "grumpy" from past hacking attempts]) computers roll to hack past this level of security.

As Hailey ascends to the first floor and nears the entrance, she hears blaster fire.

Note for Tali'k: The above refers to something that happens in the future in relation to where your character is now.

For the rest of you: Since Tali'k has been gone long enough for the other players to be concerned, let me catch her up.

Hailey stops and pulls out both her own blaster and her com-link. "Tali, you ok out there? I hear blaster fire." Wishing with all her might that she really did have the power to turn herself invisible for a moment, Hailey quietly peeks around the corner and outside she sees...

Tali recognizes the flesh raiders but only after driving a bit closer.
She's trying to remember anything else about them, especially if they're hostile. Until she can figure out more, she remains a "far" distance, in the speeder.

Tali fails to remember anything else and keeps her distance. She soon spots the professor emerging from a cave near the path. He holds an ancient looking box in his arms.

Tali drives over to the professor, interposing her speeder between him and the flesh raiders.
Hey, glad I found you! we were getting worried. I'll take you back to the ruins if you like.
whispers
There's some natives over there, I can't remember whether or not they're friendly.

"Flesh Raiders. They are a warrior caste, and respect strength. Given that there are only two of us, I suggest we keep our distance... " I'd appreciate ride, yes. Thank you.  


"OH NO. NO NO NO..." The professor points skyward, and Tali'k sees a Lambda class shuttle descending from atmosphere, heading towards the temple.

"Get to your ship. Quickly, unless you want to find yourself working the Kessel mines or worse...  It might be best to maintain comm silence for a while. Don't worry about me. Hopefully your friends will be OK in the temple. There's not much you could do at this point to help them... "

Tali uses the comm scrambler they bought.
Hey guys, we're fine, but there's an Imperial Shuttle landing, Prof. thinks its best for you to hide deep in the temple till they get bored. I gotta hide the Skiff. Comm-silence till I give the all clear.
Tali takes the professor at least out of running distance of the flesh raiders before listening to his pleas to be left to his own devices. She adds a cargo listing of three tin buckets to her data pad. She hands him her data pad with instructions to wait for that listing to be updated as sold. Then she releases him to the many caves and canyons.
Tali returns to the Æther Skiff at what might be considered reckless speed, but across the open, grassy valley she wanted to make good time. She parks the speeder in the cargo hold, and applies some magnetic locks. Tali climbs into the cockpit, and turns on the power systems to get them warmed up. While shes waiting on the computers to boot, she racks her brain recalling the terrain as they flew in, trying to think of a canyon just large enough to fit in.

Hailey: Treat the above as the response to your com to Tali.

What you see: The shuttle has landed by now. Tali is nowhere to be seen, but you see the professor just outside the temple, ringed by ubese, who are firing at him. He has drawn a teal colored lightsaber

, which he uses to bat off the blaster shots while simultaneously crossing blades with the crimson blade of a sith inquisitor. At the faintest sound of your com buzzing, the professor glances toward the temple door for an instant. It is only an instant, but the distraction is deadly. A crimson blade slides between the Jedi's ribs, and he falls. The sith calls to his allies. "My work here is done. Search the temple from top to bottom. I can sense an apprentice at the door. Kill it. If you find any of the Jedi's other collaborators, kill them."

"Yes, master." The Ubese bow before advancing on Hailey's (fortunately well concealed, but not for long) position.

After pausing to retrieve Lorik's saber as a trophy, the sith boards the shuttle and the ramp begins to close behind him.

Hailey disappears quietly down the corridors, wondering if she can trick the Ubese either into thinking she is dead by the mines or otherwise using them to her advantage.

Tali can hear a small beeping coming from a disc-like device in the cockpit. As she approaches, a projection blossoms out of the device – it is a hologram of Lorik Feryss:

“Spacers, if you’re seeing this, it means that I’ve become one with the Force. It’s likely that I’ve fallen prey to those indefatigable Ubese, or, even worse, the Dark Jedi that leads them.”
“Please forgive my small deception. I was – I am a Jedi, and it was my great hope that I would be able to find this holocron, but I was concerned that you might be wary of signing on with someone with that reputation.”
“Should I have fallen in battle, know that I will have done everything I can to prevent these enemies from finding you. I will not run, I will not call for you – I’ve spent too long running from my past. I will face it, if necessary, to prevent you from suffering my own fate.”

“I hope that, in my absence, you have still managed to find the holocron. My colleague on Mon Calamari, Tmennit En’Dey, will still want to see it. Fear not! She will have your reward, as well. You can find her in Blackwater Settlement.”
